Little Bit's Nursery!!

Okay so get ready for a bright blast of Little Bit's Nursery!! Which I absolutely adore!! I knew I wanted to do bright colors and probably some elephants and giraffes, but for sure color! So I searched and I just couldn't believe how much baby bedding was!! It is expensive!! So then I started thinking, maybe I'll just find some fabric and let grandma make some bedding...it didn't seem too hard and I know that my mom would just love doing that! For real, I really think she would and she would have done an amazing job if that's what we ended up doing. So I looked and found some Ellie & Stretch fabric that came in just about any color. Then I kinda stopped looking...no reason, I wasn't dead set on the fabric, just got busy and knew I wasn't going to be doing anything soon.
Well, my mom on the other hand, had been looking 3,4,5 times a day I think. She is getting her nursery set up you know! She really is, so Little Bit can spend the night there as much as I spent the night with my Granny when I was little! So she found some really cute ones, she is doing a yellow and grey to go with her guest room she has and it's gender neutral so when we have more, a little Mike can also like the yellow. :) Well, in her mad search for bedding she came across a Carter's one she liked at Target and then went to the website and found all sorts of cuteness! At this point we still didn't know if we were having a boy or girl, so I was looking at everything. I found two on Carter's I liked a lot, Safari Sky for a boy and Safari Brights for a girl.  Still didn't do too much. Then we found out we were having a girl and boy-oh-boy did we (my mom and I) really start looking around. Then I found another one I loved at Babies R Us, Blossom. Which I thought was just so pretty and soothing.
Now let me back up a ways...we got our furniture a long while back, like really almost when we found out we were pregnant. I was out with my mom and Amy and had seen the furniture a couple times and it was perfect!  It is white, and you can change out color slats, so then it gives you a splash of color. I was still kinda debating, because I didn't for sure know if I wanted white or dark. Decisions, decisions!  Then it was do I want a pretty nursery or a fun one...of course, I went with FUN!! So we got the furniture...which was ALL ON CLEARANCE!! All the furniture was about $700!! A convertible crib, dresser that then turns into a desk, and a chest...if that's what you would call it, it stands up higher...So we got the white and get to change out color slats when we want...AND...I had always talked about not wanting to spend too much, because what it the little one decides to scribble all over it? Well, the Chest has a chalk board on one side and a dry erase board on the other!! Perfect!! I love it.
Okay, back to bedding.  So after I showed Mike the ones I liked, he wasn't a fan of the Ellie and Stretch stuff, I showed him a picture of a set already done and he just got big eyes and said, that's really bright.  So we scratched that. Then I showed him the Safari Brights and Blossom, he liked both, but ultimately liked the Safari Brights one better, which I was so excited about because I loved it too!  He then started being silly and asked silly questions....Well, do you think the elephant will make her think she's fat? No Mike and there are giraffes...Well, will the giraffe make her think she has a long neck....yes this is my goofy husband that I love so dearly!
So, we ordered the 4-piece and got a fabulous deal...AGAIN!! At the time, Carters was only selling the sets for about $120, I think. And then I found a 15 or 20% off coupon to use...So I got the bedding for less than a $100! Woot Woot! Keep in mind some bedding 3-piece sets are $350!! and Higher!! Then my mom couldn't help herself and she pretty much ordered the entire rest of the room and with that fabulous % off coupon I found and the super low prices at the time, she got pretty much the rest of it for about $250...So we ended up getting her entire nursery....wall stuff, blankets, hamper, blankets, toys,  blankets, toys, sheets, bumper, diaper bag thingy, rattles, burp cloths, the WHOLE Shabang for $350!! Go us!!

So with all that said, where is Little Bit's Room with all the goodies!

Now we just need to find a glider, I saw one at Buy Buy Baby I liked and we really need to get on the ball because if we have to order, I think it takes 10-15 weeks!! I only have 16.5 weeks left!! YIKES!
I sure do hope Little Bit loves her nursery as much as we do!

21 Weeks!

Sorry for both, I felt the first showed my belly better, but I liked my face in the second one better, and please excuse the mess of the hair, I'm tired and pregnant :)

How far along: 21 Weeks and some!!
We have a Spaghetti Squash! About 8 inches and a Heavy Weight at 1 Pound!!!

What I've Learned from What to Expect: She's developing a sense of touch and is starting to grip things now...like the umbilical cord (maybe that's why I still have an innie :) ) And I guess she can now tell the difference between light and dark, I guess I should start shining a flashlight on my belly sometime...they said they actually react to that! Oh and she's getting more hair, has eyelashes, hopefully like her daddy's and eyebrows, hopefully not a bushy as her mommy's are right now!

Total weight gain/loss: Welp, last week I thought it was a 1/2 pound, but I'm back down again, so no weight gain!

Maternity clothes: I said I could still wear most my regular shirts last week, so this week I put on a shirt that I had worn last week and my belly was hanging out the bottom!!  The OSU shirt I have on in the pic is one of my favorites and I will be really sad if my belly hangs out the bottom of it soon.

Stretch marks: No new ones.

Sleep: Good, but I'm staying up super late. I wish I would go to bed, because I am usually tired, but I'd like to spend some time with Mike in the evenings and I've been on my Hunger Games kick and been a mad reading machine! I get short of breath around the night time though...weird, cause I don't really notice it during the day.

Best moment this week: LOTS!!
We had our Anatomy Scan this week!! It was absolutely amazing!! I don't know how long they've been doing these, but they measure just about everything!! We got to see her sweet little heart beating, and all the chambers. We saw her brain, stomach, I think kidneys, her blood flow, eye lens, her lips, fingers, and toes. Probably more and I just can't remember. It was so cool. And even cooler because as I was waiting in the waiting room, I heard my name called and looked up and saw a friend from high school and college, Taylor! I was so excited to see her and she was the one that did the ultra sound. She was so sweet and told us everything we were looking at and printed pictures off for us, which I meant to share on this post but will have to do it later. Thank you soo soo much Taylor!

I mentioned receiving the bedding and some nursery decor last week. Mike and I put the crib together, so we actually have a real looking nursery and it is adorable!! Very bright with just about every color. I will share the nursery in a later post, but here is a little peek...

I have wanted to buy things so bad since I found out she was a girl!  But I have been able to control myself and not buy all the cutest little clothes. And thankfully I did, I know I will eventually buy her some clothes, but a great friend had a sweet little girl almost 3 years ago! So, Sweet Siler has passed her adorable little clothes on to Little Bit! She always had the cutest things, we have everything from preemie to 18 months, with boots, sandals, hats, OSU gear. We got it all! Woo Hoo! So since I have held off in buying clothes, I did buy her her first Bible Stories to read to her. We have the Story of Jesus, the Story of Moses, Adam and Eve, and Noah's Ark. I also got her the Dr. Suess book, Oh Baby the Places You'll Go a while back.

It's also been so great actually having her room put together. We have our office chair in there now, to see if a glider would fit, so I go in there and just sit and read her new stories to her. Remi and Nellie usually come in and lay at my feet while I read. I'm so looking forward to her actually being here and getting to do the same thing!

I have some family and friends that are throwing us some Baby Showers, I'm so excited. Mike and I have planned to register this weekend. I sent out a FB message and got tons and tons of great feedback and ideas. I appreciated all the help. Now I will just have to see what we actually go for!

I was really hoping for some more movement, but I don't think anything yet.

Miss Anything: Still a Dr. Pepper...weird!

Movement: I haven't felt anything since that one questionable movement...or I still just haven't associated anything with her moving.

Food cravings: ICE CREAM!!  I've been dying for my homemade vanilla (Blue Bell, not my own) ice cream with chocolate syrup. But I will usually eat dinner and get to full, so I don't have it. Yesterday I specifically had a very small serving for dinner and went on a walk with Remi and I still felt too full to have it. I even contemplated just having it anyway and being miserable!  But I didn't. So tonight when I got home, I was thinking of what I could have for dinner so I could have my ice cream. So instead, I opted out of dinner and had my ice cream instead!! It was more amazing than ever!! Now I'm getting a little hungry, I still don't know what I will have for dinner, but I will find me something...maybe some Nutella!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not really.

Have you started to show yet: Yes and the kiddos at work are really starting to ask, before when they'd ask, "Ms. Kelly are you pregnant, your tummy getting big." I had answered in the past, "I don't know" and just smile. Well it is very apparent now. Well one of the Adolescents, that I don't know, came up to me and in a really kinda creepy way, (a kinda weird shriek) "Can I touch your baby?!" I know I couldn't hide my reaction very well and said "what" she did it again and I told her I didn't have a baby yet to be touched. She then shrieked, Oh can I touch your belly? And I quickly said No. She wondered why and begged. So I told her I didn't even know her and she needed to practice positive social boundaries!  Too harsh?? I think not.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out: Innie

Pregnancy Symptom: Boobs still getting bigger. Lots of Back Pain. My nails are growing like crazy!! Legs are cramping. Wanting to nest. Peeing all the time! Difficulty breathing sometimes. Pregnancy Brain has started to TAKE OVER!! It's awful, I am forgetting things all the time!!

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, Tired, but a-goin!...

Looking forward to: Feeling LB move, registering, starting to have showers, and brainstorming names!

Oh and Happy March Madness!!

Little Bit!

14 Weeks!!
Thanks for your sweet comments and emails on my last post!  So fun to get those!

I can't believe it and actually today I am on Day 100 of being pregnant!
Today I was suppose to go to the doctor, but had to reschedule for next Wednesday :( I'm so sad to have to wait another week to see our Little Bit...which I may start calling LB for short. I need to blog stock some pregger people...I don't really know what all information to share.  So here goes..
So far, still so good.
Thankfully no sickness
I have had lots more energy and feel less tired than before.
With all my energy, I still don't do very much. I need to exercise more...I mean I need to exercise period, but have no motivation.
I love to rub my belly
What to Expect (WTE) says LB is about the size of a naval orange which is about 4.5 in and 2-3 oz.
I still haven't had any cravings, with that said though...
McDonald cheeseburgers are the only kind of burgers I like right now...tried, Smashburger and a couple others, and nothing tastes as yummy as Micky D's
I have about 2, 3, or sometimes 4 oranges a day...I'm not craving, but they are usually always available at work and I have those in my inbetween meals
Meat, in general, just doesn't sound or look good.  I mentioned the fajitas and chili were a no go, pretty picky about burgers, and I tried the Meatloaf at Red Rock the other night and it was a no go too. Which this really makes me sad...because I love my meat!
Mom (my mom) has, I think, finally realized that LB could be a boy and not just a little girl
Been doing some research for childcare and let me tell ya, I almost wanted to cry!
My brain is mush
I have had lower back pain, Mike has been so sweet and will rub my back for me when I go to bed
I had my first baby dream---it was a boy, but we couldn't decide on a name...for a long time in dream time...so Julie called me and told me we could borrow 'Jackson' until we figured out what we would name him, and I gave him apple juice in a bottle---Mike makes fun of most my dreams, because they are usually so random.
With that, I still have no 'feeling' if LB is a cowboy or cowgirl
I had my first 'round ligament pain' according to WTE two nights ago...it felt like I pulled a muscle when I went to turn over. The pain went away quickly
No weight gain
My belly is definately sticking further out there. Some days its still jiggly and other days it feels really firm.
I like it when Nellie rests on my belly purring...I think its a great relaxing sound for LB!
So I think that's it so far.

Here is my Week 14 Belly Picture!

Last weekend, my mom came over to help me clear out the office and move some funiture to start getting ready for the nursery. We moved the desk and file cabinet into the guest room and it actually fits quite nicely. We still have a few more things that we need to remove...the chest/dresser is going to Kira, the TV is going to the dump, the stand, to Goodwill I guess, and the long table back to mom's attic. All the junk under it...it still needs to find a happy home here somewhere. We even cleaned out the closets!

Well, I hope you had a Happy Hump Day!  I am so ready for Friday!!  I feel it can't get here any sooner! Have a good one!
