A Little Cowboy or Cowgirl??

This is so exciting to share!!
My long-time friend, Amanda, is an ultrasound tech, so I went to go see her today to look at sweet Little Bit! Mike was unable to go, so I was a little hesitant in going, just because we were getting to find out, hoping, and I didn't want to leave him out. He had a 100 inning game for baseball, that he just found out about, which baseball is in full swing now, with season games starting March 1st. So I asked him if he wanted to try and re-schedule with Amanda or just wait for our Doctor's Appointment next week. He told me to go, that he really wanted to find out what we were having.
So, I went and we watched Little Bit move all around, wiggle toes and fingers, saw a wave, and with a little imagination, we saw LB show the 'Go Pokes' sign! Already a Cowboy! (or girl). Well, Amanda went from every angle and 'Aunt' Amanda says we are having a little...

COWGIRL!!

Amanda said Little Girl Evans was so cooperative and just showed us everything!  Mike is now a little worried, haha! I really couldn't believe that I actually knew now and when I left...and still now, I just can't stop smiling! It is so exciting to know, and for me, it has made it 'more real'. Thank you so much 'Aunt' Amanda for being apart of this with us!  Can't wait to come see you again!

Since Mike couldn't go, I was trying to find a creative way to tell him. I was thinking I'd either get a baseball for a boy or some pom poms for a girl. Well, I couldn't find any pom poms anywhere...I didn't go on a major search just because of time, so then I was looking at the cutest little dresses, I tried to find a 'Daddy's Little Girl' and couldn't, but I really wanted something tangible that we could also put in the nursery. Then I saw a pink mitt and tee ball and almost got that...remember it is baseball season! But then I thought, no, that might be something he will want to do with his little girl. Then I saw just a pink and white baseball. I debated for quite some time and decided I would get that and put It's a Girl on it and either toss it to him when he got home or have it in the 'Sharing Glass' that Amy got me.
I was in the parking lot and and Mike calls me and asks, 'Well, what do we have?' I asked him if he wanted me to tell him now or did he want his little gift I got him. He thought and said, 'tell me now, I wanna know.' I told him a little girl and he was really excited. He was pretty sure that it was a girl after our last doctor's appointment.
I told him what I was planning to do for him and when I got home, I finished it and texted it to my mom, dad, and brother. Mike called his parents at the basketball game half and then I shared with some other close friends. So here is what Little Girl will have to put in her room!

There's our story!  I really thought I wanted to have a Gender Reveal Party for family and friends. But I was so ready to blab it wasn't even funny!! So props to you Mommy and Daddy's that can hold it in for a while and either not tell or wait till your party.
Thanks for sharing our special day with us!
Guess we need to re-budget now, girls seem to cost a lot more than boys!
Good Night!

18 Weeks!

 How far along: 18 Weeks,
We have a Mango! About 6 inches, 1/2 pound!

What I've Learned from What to Expect: LB's legs and arm are now in proportion and moving like crazy! LB also has this 'cheesy wax' now which keeps LB from coming out looking a shriveled up prune!

Total weight gain/loss: Still the Same, but I felt heavier this week, and I feel a double chin coming on! Hopefully not though!

Maternity clothes: Yep and LOVE them! Though today was GORGEOUS and I pulled out some capri's and they still fit without the button.I will definitely have to stock up on maternity capri's very soon for work and summer!

Stretch marks: No new ones.

Sleep: Been good, still wake up on my back and it feels so good! Rolling over and trying to roll myself outta bed is getting a little tricky.
Best moment this week: Going to see 'Aunt' Amanda today and finding out what Little Bit is!!

Miss Anything: Nothing comes to mind right now...I think I will always miss just getting to have a glass of wine for dinner though.

Movement: No, Darnet! :( I'm hoping soon though!! I might pee my pants when it finally does happen though, I'm so looking forward to that! But during the ultrasound today though LB was a little wiggle worm, so there is lots of movement going on, but just not feeling it yet.

Food cravings: Biscuits and Gravy this week, I think I've had it three times in the last week!  May be the reason for feeling heavier, huh? ;)

Anything making you queasy or sick: I think someone was smoking it the stairwell at work the past couple of days, and it has made me want to Gag!  But that would probably make me want to Gag anyway.

Have you started to show yet: Oh Yes!
Gender prediction: Today was actually the first day I had an idea, or more just a hope...I just think it would be so fun to see a little Mikey running around and him and daddy doing landscaping and baseball and golf and all that fun daddy/son stuff

I will reveal the gender either later tonight or tomorrow so stay tuned!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out: Still an Innie.

Pregnancy Symptom: Boobs still getting bigger. Niagara's still fallin. Back Pain. My nails are growing like crazy!! Legs are cramping again, and I can feel Charlie Horses coming on, but with some great advice from mommas the last time, I will flex my foot when I start to feel one and it usually goes away. But they are super sore and Mike was a sweety and rubbed my back and my calf...yes, it's just one.

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or Moody most of the time: On top of the World Happy today after finding out, feeling great! And Lots of Energy!

Looking forward to: Feeling LB move, planning the nursery, hearing the heartbeat again, and Remi getting to play with a new baby!

So excited to share the gender with you so soon!  Oh, and Go Cowboys!!

Jury Duty!!

Sometime back in January, Mike calls me and says, I think I have some bad news...I'm thinking, Oh shit, What?! And then he proceeds to tell me he's pretty sure I'd been called for Jury Duty.

Jeez, it's not something I'm just super excited for, but he really had me thinking some really bad news. So, I found out I was to go serve my Civic Duty on Valentines Day...woohoo, right?  I was really bummed about having to go to jury duty anyway. At work we've been really busy and we have no one to cover, so that means Ruth and Chad, the other two full time TR's, have to cover my full time position. So, it was just starting to be an inconvenience. But, the closer it got, the more selfish I got, and thought, hey it'll be nice to be off work, paid, and not have to use my own vacation time. So I was now looking forward to having jury duty and was secretly hoping I would get on a case that would take a while.

On Tuesday, I pack some snacks, get dressed up, business casual, and make my was to the courthouse. This was a very interesting experience. One, now that I'm glad I was able to have. Let me tell ya though, Jury Duty brought out some interesting faces and some very weird smells from the people of Tulsa County.
For those of you who have never been on Jury Duty, you have to check in and go through security and then make your way to the basement. There were tons of people there and so many lines that seemed to take forever! Once through the lines, I found myself a seat and started my people watching. I even had a lady, sitting next to me, offer me a magazine once. I told her I was enjoying my people watching. :) She laughed and agreed that it was some good times for watching.

They give you several directions and then they start with the jury pool selection. This sweet lady, who has probably been there since the building was built, puts all of our name cards in this box that looks older than dirt. She then shakes it and calls a name, shakes it, calls a name, shakes it, calls a name until the right amount of jurors have been called. I was finally called in the third round of names.

Then you get to up to the court room and they will then do the same thing with the smaller pool to get a smaller number of jurors, for us it was 19 from 26. I was chosen in the 19. Then you get to go sit in the jury box an the judge asks you lots of questions and then the lawyers get to also ask you lots of questions. They then will select the final 13 for the actual 'trail'.

So, I was picked for the final 13 and we started the actual 'trial'. I was on a civil case, so I don't really know if the word 'trial' is the correct term. But, it was a lawsuit case of an individual (the plaintiff) against a small movie theater ( the defendant) in town. After listening to what all the lawyers said, and a few witnesses, we started to deliberate on Thursday morning. We discussed for a very short time and sided with the defendant.

Afterwards our judge, Mary Fitzgerald, talked with us and it was nice. We got to ask her questions about the case and just about law in general. She was very personable. I even received a letter of thanks from her on Saturday! So overall, my Civic Responsibility was a success and defiantly not as awful as I thought it would be. I do wish that I was on a criminal case, it would be way more interesting I think. So, with all that, if you get picked for jury duty, I hope your experience goes as well as mine did. Not only did I enjoy seeing how law works, I also got to meet some great people along the way.

Hope y'all have a Happy Sunday and Presidents Day tomorrow!

17 Weeks!!

How far along: 17 Weeks, plus a few days
We have a Sweet Potato! About 5.5 inches 5 ounces

What I've Learned from What to Expect: LB's can now yawn. How cute will that be to see on an ultrasound?!

Total weight gain/loss: Still the Same

Maternity clothes: Yep and LOVE them!

Stretch marks: This is tricky...I noticed some of those little pesky marks on my side by my waist...but I know I already had some from long long time ago on my upper legs. So I don't know if these are newbies or ones I've never noticed before.  But I will say I did a close check, so next time I will know if they are new ones...hopefully not too many though.

Sleep: Sleep is good when I'm asleep.  My nightly trips to the little girls room kinda disrupts it though.  Mike is a sawing-logs-snoring-machine (sometimes). Well I normally don't hear him, but once I'm awake, it's hard for me to get back to sleep with him snoring. Sometimes I use earplugs and sometimes I just shake him over and over til he shuts-up.
I'm still waking up on my back, which gets me nervous---apparently sleeping on your back can cause lack of oxygen to the baby---but good news is, I've had several friends let me know that my body will defiantly let me know when not to sleep on my back.

Best moment this week: Doesn't necessarily directly relate to LB, but I had today (Friday) off after having Jury Duty this past week.  So I got to google, search, and pinterest baby things...Oh, mom and I did go piddling yesterday and I got LB a sweet super soft Orange Blanket!

Miss Anything: Nothing comes to mind right now...I think I will always miss just getting to have a glass of wine for dinner though.

Movement: No, Darnet! :( I'm hoping soon though!! I might pee my pants when it finally does happen though, I'm so looking forward to that!
Food cravings: Really wanted Coney Island this week and probably just fruits still.

Anything making you queasy or sick: During Jury Duty, Tulsa County brought in some really funky smells that I had to try to avoid...can't pinpoint what it was, but it was weird!

Have you started to show yet: Absolutely!  Some people are so funny, I know they aren't being rude intentionally, but they will say things like, I mentioned I was a little over 4 months and some comments were, "Oh your already bigger than my daughters who are 7 and 3.5 months." Gee, thanks lady, way to make a pregger girl feel fat!  No, I really don't feel fat!

Gender prediction: Nope, but I did have a Girl Dream this week...Here goes...(you know it's hard to explain dreams, so I will do my best without dragging it on and on) The dream was we had a little girl and brought her home. We put her to bed and for whatever reason, she didn't like the bumpers on the bed---yes I will be the mom along with 1000's others that will be chastised for using those awful baby bumpers---so Mike and I had to take the bumpers off. In order to do this we had to disassemble the entire crib to take those awful bumpers off. When we went to put the crib back together, when we were finish, we had about 2-3 extra parts left, and they looked like really important parts that should be on the crib somewhere, but we didn't seem to care and put Little Bit Girl back to bed and then I woke up.
So, I've now had a boy dream and a girl dream, the heart beat has been 175 and 140, can't seem to eat meats but love my chocolate milk...all which seem to be opposite of what the old wives tales will tell ya about gender prediction. Oh well. I did ask my friend if I could come visit her this weekend to see if she can tell us what we are having a bit earlier than when we go back to the doctor.
Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out: Still an Innie.

Pregnancy Symptom: Boobs still getting bigger. Niagara's still fallin. I feel I can smell anything! Back Pain. My nails are growing like crazy!!  And I've haven't bit them since I found out I was pregnant, go me!

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, feeling great! And Lots of Energy!

Looking forward to: Feeling LB move, Finding out for sure what LB is, planning the nursery, hearing the heartbeat, and Remi getting to play with a new baby!
Hope y'all have a great weekend!  Happy Friday!

16 Weeks!

How far along: 16 Weeks, plus a few days, about the size of an Turnip, 5 inches & 3.5-4 ounces!!

What I've Learned from What to Expect: LB's can now hear us and has reactions to different noises.
Total weight gain/loss: None. Thankfully my belly was already a little on the round side, so LB is just filling it in for me.

Maternity clothes: Yep and LOVE them!

Stretch marks: Nope

Sleep: So wonderful with our new amazing bed!! I actually had one night this week that I didn't even get up for a potty break!

Best moment this week: Going to the doctor and getting to see LB!!  And getting a 'guess but don't start painting yet' gender reveal!

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything: Red Wine this week, Mike and I went to dinner with Casey and Derek and Casey order a glass and it smelled amazing!!

Movement: No, :( I'm hoping soon though!! At our appointment though, we did see Little Bit kicking it's legs and wiggling it's toes, just like mom does!

Food cravings: Probably just fruits still. Oh, and I always think about vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. I've been good and didn't have any, but today I did get some Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream when i was grocery shopping, so excited!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Tosh.O had a segment, that if I just even think about makes me want to gag.

Have you started to show yet: Absolutely! It's funny, cause I feel I've been showing for a long time, but on Thursday, three people at work (all know I'm preggers) and they commented about my belly poking out there. Some the kiddos at work are asking too.

Gender prediction: Still nothing from me.  Doctor gave us an idea, but I think I will save that for later :)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out: Still an Innie.

Pregnancy Symptom: Boobs are getting huge, which Mike is loving and I want to cry....And if you've read Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth about Pregnancy and Childbirth, then I can now relate to the Niagara Falls Chapter...And I woke up to my first Pregger Charlie Horse, it was awful and I scared the crap outta Mike. My calf was still sore the next day. I hate those things!

Wedding rings on or off: On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, feeling great! And Lots of Energy!

Looking forward to: Feeling LB move, getting the nursery cleared out completely...almost done, but still have a couple things that need to find homes and then we can move furniture in! Finding out for sure what LB is and then getting to start thinking of names.  So many people give me a weird look when they ask what names we've thought about and we haven't. Since we are finding out, why do double-duty of thinking of a boy and a girl name, so we are waiting.

And this happened on Friday...What a bummer, huh?!
Thankfully it still works with it's new look.
