Fourth of July Fireworks!

Happy 4th of July!! (A little late)

Forth of July is me and my family's favorite holiday. Growing up, we were a pyromaniac family. Loved fireworks and blowing things up. Over the years, I've done less blowing things and fireworks up, but still love me some fireworks. Since we moved into our house, we've had people over for the celebration. So it didn't change this year, even though, I was secretly wishing LB would be a firecracker baby.

I made Pioneer Woman's Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork which I just love! Super easy, makes a lot, everyone usually likes it, and is sooo good!! Mike got the horseshoe pit up and running and of course they also had beer pong going. Our neighbors had some great fireworks and we enjoyed our selves all evening.

It was even better because I didn't have to go to work the following day, so I was okay with staying up late. :) Here are some firework pictures from that night!

Mike, Little Bit and I are so blessed with such a wonderful supportive family and more blessed with friends that are so excited to meet Little Bit too. Amy and Amber hosted my second shower June 2nd. It was so fun and I am so appreciative of all they've done for me. Food was delish, and Amy was so sweet to make sure I was okay with everything with all the GB stuff. I figured, oh well, if my number is high for celebration.  But thankfully it wasn't, even better!! We had fruit and dip, turkey & cheese and ham & cheese croissants, mini quiche, rainbow chip cupcakes-my fav!, and mimosa's--virgin for me and Alayna though :)

Little Bit is so loved, she received so many wonderful gifts. If she came today, we'd definitely be ready for her!

 Amber out did herself again by making the cutest burp clothes, including an OSU one of course! I was so excited for these :)

 Jen, gave me a bucket of 'All the Goods'! I love everything I got, but I was most excited about all the fun, necessity, things that I wouldn't know to get. She included, medication, nose sprays, breast pumping things, diaper rash stuff, and so so much more! Thankfully she even wrote out a list of what I will be using it all for too!

 I'm pretty sure they are laughing as I pull out all the stuff that Jen gave me, and I had no clue what is was for.

 And another favorite was my girl friends making month onsies for Little Bit. I had been looking into purchasing some stickers from etsy, but these are so much cuter!  Thank you so much ladies...Amy, Amanda, Jen, Alayna, Amber, and not able to make it Tiffany and Allison!  Y'all are great!

 And at home, playing with things we got...our stroller...Nellie tested it out for us, she's a fan. Later in the evening she got in the underneath basket too, didn't have my camera for that though! And thankfully it didn't freak Remi out, since she will be walking with me with it!

Thanks so much!  We really are so blessed to have all our friends and family to support us and our new journey into parenthood. Little Bit is so lucky to have so many people that love her!

Congrats to the Newly Weds!!

Mr. and Mrs. Derek Hughes!

Last weekend, we celebrated Memorial Weekend in Oklahoma City, for Mike's Best Friend, Derek and his super fun wife Kacy! I was able to take their engagement pictures later last year. They are such a fun couple and great friends of ours. They had the rehearsal dinner, which I was so glad I was able to get off work for, at Pearl's Crabtown. Great food and good times for all! We all then headed back to the hotel and went to the bar...this was the first time I'd been to the bar really really pregnant looking, so I felt a little funny at first :) I made my way to bed a little after midnight...Mike had a later night with the rest of the gang.

The next morning, I had breakfast with Tim, another groomsman, before they headed out for golf...Mike wanted to sleep a little later and he was getting ready. So the boys headed out for golf and I hung out for a bit and then the cleaning people came, so then I met Rick (FIL) while he ate. Around that time, Sarah-Tim's wife, showed up and she sat with us for a while too. Rick mentioned going to the mall to walk around some, so Me, Melanie, and Rick headed to the mall and had some lunch, walked around, Rick got my phone fixed--no more broken glass!! And then Mel and I met up with Sarah for pedi's! Woo Hoo, first one of the season for me!
We then got ready and headed to the Country Club where the wedding and reception was held. So beautiful and fun!  Kacy had those fun bright colored, ball lantern type thingy's  hanging all around...I'm hoping to get some for LB nursery :) The food was great and hanging out with all our friends was even better.

After the reception, guess where we headed...back to the hotel bar again. I didn't stay out too much longer, but Mike and his buddies and Derek's fam had an even later night. Pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves all weekend. Sunday, Kacy's parents invited us for a brunch, which is where I had that amazing Cinnamon Role!! I soothed my feet in their pool too. It was a great weekend and I am so glad we got to be apart of their special day.
Derek and Kacy, we wish you a lifetime of happiness and lots of laughter!  We love you guys!
