Project 365 July 27 - July 30

Day 30 - Candle Light
These are in our bedroom, I just think they are so pretty when they are lit. (the back ones are a reflection)

Day 29 - Grasshoppers
I just love finding little critter friends in my yard. This little guy was on our hose roller. I was kinda worried that he was gonna jump on me...it's not that I'm afraid of grasshoppers, I just want them to not hop on me! Anywho, he was pretty funny, because as I pulled the hose out to the middle of the yard...he just rode the 'merry-go-round' like he was at a carnival! By the way, for me, he was a pretty big guy, about 1.5''!

Day 28 - The Color Red
These are some tomatoes I picked from my neighbors tomato plants while I've been taking care of their yard. This is my attempt at some photoshop creativity...the original is below.

Day 27 - Smell
One of my favorite smells is fresh cut grass! Our yard sometimes gets neglected because Mike works so hard all week making sure other peoples yards look marvelous! So I was super excited when I got home and he was mowing! (I would mow, if he would let me or leave the mowers out...they stay in the trailer in the garage, and there is no way for me to get to them without Mike, otherwise, I wouldn't love it, but I would love to make him happy by mowing!)
Remi and her 'crack' ball!! She loves this ball so much and almost acts possessed when she plays with it! Haha!

Tidbit Tuesday

~I saw both sides of a Rainbow today on my way home from work, Amazing, Thank you Jesus!...then had a great laugh remembering the Double Rainbow song on You Tube that Mike told me about.
~Got to enjoy a nice dinner with my husband on our patio tonight!
~I think I love Red Box! I mean how great to go pick a movie for a $1!! (I do need some good movie titles though, I last few Mike and I have seen were just okay)
~Getting super excited for my In-Laws to be in town on Friday!!

A Cute Little Barn and Some Horses

This is a barn close to my house that I have thought multiple times, I need to pull over and take a picture of this. So today I finally did it...in the 102 degree weather...gotta love Oklahoma weather! Anyway, then after getting some shots, on my way back to the car, I saw the horses, so I headed up the hill and got some fun shots of them. I just love horses, never really been around them, but I can completely see myself living on a farm with lots of dogs, cats, and horses! Mike probably thinks a little differently.

Don't they just look like they are best friends?

I love this one!!
They were so friendly, they came right up to me and ate from my hand.

And later in the evening, this is what we were blessed with...

Butterfly Blessing

Here are some pictures of a butterfly that came to visit us yesterday. This is the first time I've seen the orange and black one around our house. I'm not sure if it's a Monarch Butterfly or not, she was pretty little. We have lots of little white ones fluttering around. She stuck around for a while and let me get some good shots. This is also one of my daily shots for Project 365.

I love the way the sun is shining through her wings in this one.

Project 365 July 25 & 26

Day 26 - Creating Depth
This is in a field by my house, it was hard to only pick one for today...but this is it. These horses were so sweet, they came right up to me once they saw me. I gave them some weeds and snapped some pics.

Day 25 - Butterfly - This little lady stopped by today and just loved having her picture taken. She stayed for quite a while enjoying the colorful flowers.

Random Tidbits

A few Random Tidbits

~Today is my Dad's Birthday! Happy Birthday to You!
~Today Mike is in a Softball tourament and we went to bed at 9:40 last night!! I don't remember the last time he was ready to go to bed that early!! I was so pumped to be going to bed so early even on a Friday night!
~Found out Casey is going to get to stay a WEEK longer than expected!!! WOOHOO and praise Jesus!
~Found out he will also be the special guest at the Tulsa Oilers Alumni Hockey Game and drop the first puck!
~I'm learning more and more to trust God with things I don't have control over
~And, Did you know that you can go back to your original skin color if you press on your belly button for about 10 minutes a day? This is the insightful advice I get from my kids at work! He really thinks its working for him!! HaHa!!

Project 365 July 20-July 24

Day 20 - Something Out of the Ordinary
I was at my parents house picking Remi up and saw these flowers growing through their fence, so I thought...this isn't wear flowers come from and clicked away something out of the ordinary!

Day 21 - Something Round (and sparkly!!)
This is my Necklace that Mike gave me for Christmas a few years ago. I love it and wear it just about every day.

Day 22 - Water Drops...a Failed Attempt
I sat for a really long time and took hundreds of snapshots trying to get a cool water drop picture. I never got what I was looking for, but in the midst of all my failed attempt, I found the little Wal-Mart Roll-Back guy!! I promise this is one of the drops of water, straight from my camera! I did not add this cute little guy! So maybe this wasn't a complete failed photo session!

Day 23 - Movies!!
I took my kiddos at work to the movies today and we saw Despicable Me. It's a must see for anyone with or without kiddos! I loved it and the kiddos had a great time too!

Day 24 - Love
Some things I love...Jesus, my husband, my family, my furkiddos, white wine in the summer, flip flops, photography, driving with the windows down, Peachwave, finding good deals at Marshall's, cooking, traveling (or at least thinking about it), girls dinner, the smell of fresh cut grass, and fireworks, just to name a few...what are some things you love?
I actually saw this somewhere else and stole their idea, ;)

Almost a month has passed...only 11 more to go. I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have. Thanks so much for all your feedback and comments! Love you all!

Project 365 July 13- July 19

I'm gonna have to come up with something more creative for my titles for this project...I think I'll get a little board with the same thing!

Anywho, here we are another week into this year long project...I have to say, this week I kinda cheated about when I actually took the pictures. They were all planned, just not necessarily taken on the actual day...oh well.

Day 13 - Part of Something
This is part of our meter. Which is actually quite ugly, but getting in close and focusing on just part of it make it look pretty interesting to me...and I like it in the black and white. I also thought it was cool that they are made in the USA!

Day 14 - Light Painting!!
Holy Smokes, if you are into photography, you've got to try Light Painting Photography. It is so much fun. This was taken with the shutter open for about 7 seconds and I used Nellie's laser light toy to 'Paint with Light'. I pretty much hung out in our laundry room (the darkest room in the house) for an hour playing with different lighting. So awesome...expect to see more of these.
There are also some really cool websites about Light Painting.

Day 15 - Rough Day...
I love my job...I really do. But working in a Behavioral Health Children's hospital can sometimes put a damper on things. It's very rewarding and draining at the same time. This day in particular, was just awful...there is no other kinder word to put it. So I came home a had me a glass or two of wine to wind down.
This is a Riesling that Mike brought home for me called Polka Dot...it was great and I just love the name too!

Day 16 - Stripes
This is a fun rug in my kitchen. I love that there are stripes going both directions.

Day 17 - Warm
Warm colors and swirlies!

Day 18 - Picture of a Picture
These are all old pictures that I have gathered from my family because I am working on another project....the Wall of Family. I am getting old family pictures to create a wall collage in my home. I saw it at a friends house and it was so cool. It was also lots of fun going through the pictures with my Granny and hearing about the stories behind them. I think Granny had a good time too reminiscing her childhood. That's her in the middle as young girl.

Day 19 - Happy Birthday to Casey!
Today is my little brothers 26th Birthday! I have no clue where the time went...when did we all grow up? Casey is in the Marines and currently training at 29 Palms in the Cali-desert. He is stationed in Japan and gets to come home in August. He will then deploy to Afghanistan in Sept or Oct. We are so excited to get to see him and give him lots of hugs! Love you Casey and Happy Birthday Buddy!

Hope you enjoyed.
Love,
Me :)

Best Day of the Year...Well, one of them anyway!

4th of July!! This is one of my absolute favorite holidays! Growing up, we always had a huge Firework show. My dad and grandpa were probably the biggest kids of us all on this day. So, I was super excited when we moved into a cul-de-sac of 4th of July lovers too!
We had friends over with burgers, hot dogs, queso, baked beans, dips, drinks and smores! Mike cleaned up the yard and fixed up the horseshoe pit. When it was almost dark we set up out front to watch the fireworks. They were going on all around us, we could even see some of River Walk over the roof-tops. It was great fun and I got some great pictures too.

Started the wonderful day off at church with July Revival!

One of our neighbors...On 4th of July, I feel like our cul-de-sac turns into a scene from Sandlot. I love it!

And the show begins...

I don't know why...but every time I look at this picture, I see a face...

Mike's favorite firework picture...

My favorite...

And another neighbor with sparklers!
We had a great time with great friends. Thanks so much!

Julie's Shower!!

In June, we had a Baby Shower for my dear friend Julie. Julie and I became best friends in college. We were pretty much two peas in a pod. Julie and her husband now live in Texas and we don't really get to see each other too often but we still keep in touch.
So, I was super excited when Julie was going to need a place to stay when she came in for the shower. I took a day off work and we spent time going and looking at baby things and just hanging out. It was so much fun and just like old times for us.
Here are some pictures from her baby shower...

Me, Julie, Kassi, and Jessica (Amber wasn't able to make it, but she was there in spirit!)

Miss M - Julie's sweet niece.

OSU Burp Cloths for Mr. Jackson!!
