ORANGE!!!!

Okay well I am testing something out with this post.  I am trying to figure out how to just use words to link to a website rather than having to post the entire long web address.  So, you saw some of my pictures from last years homecoming.  Hopefully you can see some of this years Homecoming Pictures here

OSU Homecoming

and here

You can also see Library Lawn Cam Yes the fountain is ORANGE!

And at halftime, my cowboys are down 31-27. Let go Pokes for the second half!!

America's Greatest Homecoming Celebration....Go Pokes

America's Greatest Homecoming!  Welcome to Oklahoma State University!
Homecoming is one of the many proud traditions at Oklahoma State University, and perhaps one of the most widely known. Every year, thousands of OSU alumni and fans return to Stillwater, taking part in what is heralded as the biggest and best homecoming celebration in the country.

There are a number of festivities that go on  that residential and Greek life students partake in, including: Football Frenzy, Sign Competition, House Decs, "Sea of Orange Parade", Harvest Carnival, Chili Cookoff, and Pep Rally.  House Decs is by far what brings the alumni back.  Greek Houses have been working on these amazing decs for majority of the first semester.  They are outstanding!  It takes so much time and effort from everyone to get these complete.  Thursday night is ALL-NIGHT POMP.  Literally, all the Greek life stays up all night long to get the house decs completed and ready for judging in the early evening.  It like a big party.  There are supporters out with popcorn, water, hot chocolate, everyone walks around on their breaks.  So much fun.  All-Night Pomp was one of my favorite times throughout the year.

This year Mike and I did not attend Walk-Arounds.  First time in 10 years for me!! Very Big Sad Face Here!  But we did enjoy a fabulous dinner with his family to celebrate Mike's birthday.  Anywho, these are some pictures of last years walk-around and game day. Just to show you how awesome it really is!

Sidenote...Due to the Kappa Sigmas grand idea several years ago...MICRO POMPING, now everyone does it for the entire house dec pretty much.  That means you have to use a pencil to pomp the tissue paper into a chicken wire hole smaller than the size of your finger.  This means LOTS OF TIME!  But it makes it look wonderful and so detailed.
Game Day tomorrow is against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 2:30.  Can't wait.  Let's go Cowboys!!

Mike and I...and the goobers in the back are Derek, and Jared aka Koosh!

And the Walk-Arounds Begin...yes, this is ALL tissue paper!

 Remembering the Fallen 10

OSU was on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice last year!  Go Pokes!

Pistol Pete himself!  Frank Eaton

So this is what I had to do for myself to pretend that I was at walk-arounds.  I can't wait to see all my friends pictures this year!  It is amazing and you should definately put it on your Bucket List!  America's Greatest Homecoming!

Go Cowboys Beat Nebraska!

Project 365

So here's the rest up until Monday, trying to get better.  Enjoy!

Day 110 - Fall Foliage
So, I went on a photo outing after work and ended up in West Tulsa at Camp Loughridge.  It is absolutely beautiful out there.  I wasn't real sure, if I was suppose to be driving around or not, but no one ever stopped me, so I guess it was okay.  My goal was to find pretty fall colors.  Oklahoma has yet to turn fall pretty...I'm kinda scared that we are gonna go from green to bare trees with no fall pretty!!
So as I was driving around I saw some cabins and a little bench with a view.  It's not quite the fall pretty colors I was looking for but, it was still absolutely beautiful and so peaceful.  I sat on this bench for about 20-30 minutes and just took it all in.  It was wonderful.  You know, sometimes you don't really know that you are stressed or uptight or whatever until you take time to enjoy the beauty that God blesses us with.  I felt so much better after my picture outing and didn't even know that anything was wrong!
And to make things even better...I got to drive through my old neighborhood and see the flood house and found anther fun road that wasn't there when I lived there and saw a FOX!  or a Coyote!  It was red like a fox, but on the much bigger side, so it was probably a coyote.  But again just so cool to see God's creatures and beauty.  What a wonderful evening!
Oh the fox/coyote was too slick and sly for me to get a picture...bummer!

In this picture you can see the colors of the sun setting in the west.

Day 109 - Shadows
This is on one of Remi and I's nightly walks...which I am needing to go do after I finish this post!  Remi was fantastic and so patient with me and all the poses and pictures I took of us.  If my neighbors saw me, they may think I'm a bit odd. :)

Day 108 - O
O is for Orange, optimism, OSU, outdoors, openness

Day 107 - L
L is for love, laughter, listening, light,

Day 106 - Y
Y is for Yankees, yes, yodling, youthfulness
(Mike said he really didn't see the Y in this picture...is he crazy or am I? haha)

Day 105 - J
J is for Jesus, joyfulness, jolly, juggling, jukeboxes

Day 104 - Silly Face
...or scary which ever you prefer.  I upped the saturation in this picture to give it a lot of color pop and contrast.

Okay so almost caught up.  Thanks so much!

Project 365

Project 365 Pictures!!
Again, it's been so long and I am so sorry!  I'm upset with myself for not being more consistant.  But oh well.  Hope you all are doing great! Here is half of the most recent pictures with the rest of them to come tomorrow or Wednesday.

FYI - I am starting to try and find the letters of the alphabet.  Hopefully I will be able to find all the letters and maybe even a few of the same letter.  So that is why you will be seeing letters for a while.  Not all the time, but when one comes around.

Day 103 - S
S is for smiles, sillyness, slides...
This is one of those energy efficent light bulbs out on my back patio.

Day 102 - Whimsical
A center-piece at a wedding I went to, I thought the candle lights and the gems were so pretty.

Day 101 - T
T is for teaching, tickling, time is family and friends...
A childrens swing on the playground by my house.

Day 100 - Something Old
A really old cash register at a wedding I went to a while ago.

Day 99 - Storyboards
This is my first attemp at a storyboard and I am loving it.  I hope to figure out other fun and creative ways to use these.  The pictures I used are some of my first shots I took when I got my new camera, and they are straight out of the camera too, because I didn't have any cool editing programs yet!

Day 98 - C
C is for caring, children, Casey, church, cuddling

Day 97 - Care Package!
I got all this in that little box! First Care Package sent to Casey while he is in Afghanistan. Hope he enjoyed the fun...water balloons and water guns, scetch pad with color pencils, letter, advil, baby wipes, magazines, yummy snacks, eye drops, and so much more. His next one was a Halloween Package! I hope he sends pictures back from that!

Day 96 - Free Hand
This is the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor symbolizing the USMC that one of my kids drew for his letter to my brother. His letter was just as awesome and thoughtful as his picture.

Day 95 - Complimentary Colors
Green and Blue on Brown...I really just love the saying and try to live by it.  If you know me, you know that I do laugh quite often and laughing is one of my favoriate things to do!

The rest to come soon!

Project 365 September 28-October 2

Day 95 - The Service Flag - Honoring Casey and all of US Military
Casey left Wednesday, September 29th for Afghanistan.  He left from Japan with around 200 others and are meeting up somewhere along the way with I don't know how many from Hawaii.  He is still in route, but thinks they are almost there, to Camp Leatherneck.  I think this is where he will be for the 7 (hopefully not more like I originally thought!) months he is there.  He will probably move around from area to area fixing/installing generators/doing whatever the heck they tell him to do.
This is the Service Flag. The Service flag is an official banner authorized by the Department of Defense for display by families who have members serving in the Armed Forces during any period of war or hostilities the United States may be engaged in for the duration of such hostilities. The blue star represents a family member serving in the Armed Forces and signifies hope and pride.
I have had this flag hanging in my window since Casey graduated from the USMC Boot Camp.  While is it
appropriate for family members to display at those times, when he left it just meant a little more to me.  Thank you Casey for all you are doing, I am so proud of you and love you so much! I am so much looking forward to your homecoming!
Please continue to pray for Casey and all of our US military and their families.

If you are interested in sending letters or care packages to Casey and his unit, let me know.  Mom has already sent a couple of things and I am send a package this week.  Casey did say that when sending things to send for about 15 others...he said these men probably won't get anything while they are there.  We didn't ask questions on why he thinks that, but it absolutely broke my heart that these brave and selfless men may not have anyone to support them.

Day 93 - Silhouette
This was taken at the wedding I went to a week or so ago.  I was hoping that I got the sunset, but by the time, I thought out it, the sun was too far down.  But I like it anyway.

Day 92 - Making Something Small Look Big
These are teeninsie Violas that we planted last weekend.  They are so cute! I also did pansies in the flower bed.

Day 91 - Partly Sunny Today
Not really, it was sunny and beautiful, but my picture is part of something today.  By the way, I am loving this fall weather!  It's just fantastic!

Day 90 - Everyday Item
I use this EVERYDAY!  My phone charger.  Tried to put a little creativity into the commonly used item today. And yes, those are little Nellie bites. Crazy Cat!

Day 89 - Fall is Here!
Well it actually got her the 22nd, but boy oh boy the weather is Awesome.  This is a wreath that our realtor gave us when we moved it two years ago. Mike had to remind me it was two and not one!  Where does the time go?!
